1ST DAY OF CHRISTMAS - STONEWARE CERAMICS FROM JON CURTIS

It’s 1st December and I’m feeling all reflective about the past year.

It’s seriously disappeared in the blink of an eye. I think part of me still thinks its February. Business wise SunSide Studio has gone from strength to strength, and rather embarrassingly as a result I still have no real website to show you. I cannot complain, I’ve been booked up all year without needing to promote the studio at all (thank you to all my wonderful clients and friends that have spread the word and kept me oh so busy!). The full website will be designed and built in 2016. There, I’ve said it, now it has to happen. Check back December 1 next year to see it in all its glory!

Now, because I still think its February, I haven’t actually started my Christmas shopping yet. Tie that up with me flying out to New Zealand for a month on Christmas Eve and I am seriously unorganised this year. So, as a way to give myself a kick up the butt and also remind myself of some of the amazing, talented, creative people I’ve worked with or bought from in the past 12 months, I thought I’d do a Christmas gift guide advent calendar.

It starts today - yes, thats usually how advent calendars work, starting 1st December!

First up, last month (or was it October!?) I worked with the uber talented potter, Jon Curtis, on his new website www.joncurtisceramics.co.uk

Jon’s stonewares are ridiculously beautiful with his signature celadon and copper reduction. Some pieces even include pieces of sea glass for an extra touch of natural beauty and shine. I chose the line 'Bringing beauty to everyday life' for Jon's site, as that is his aim. His work is completely functional and affordable to ensure that his pieces really can bring beauty to everyday life!

I’ve picked out a couple of my favourite pieces below, but take a look at his shop for more of a selection. PLUS - BREAKING NEWS! Jon has just put up a Christmas sale with 10% off for the next 12 days of Christmas. Just use the code 12DAYS at checkout. You're welcome!
